A collection of FAQs to help put your mind at ease.
What will be the operating hours for camp?
We are open Monday through Friday from 7 am to 6 pm
Does my child(ren) have to attend the whole day at camp?
Definitely not. We are open from 7am-6pm and that is for your convenience to choose what times work for your family.
Does my child(ren) have to attend every day of the week if we sign them up for a particular week?
No way. Our pricing system is made to allow for families to choose days of the week that work for them. There is a generous (in our opinion) discount if you choose to attend all week but that choice is yours.
My child(ren) are interested in the musical. Do they have to attend every day and are the practices all day?
We will practice every day for the musical so attending every day for those 2 weeks is highly advisable however if you have a specific situation, please reach out to us and ask. Also, the primary timeframe where we will practice for the musical is from 9am-2pm. We don’t want to overwhelm the our young actors and actresses so 4-5 days of practice, with MANY breaks, is more than enough time to prepare for our shows.
I’ve heard there is a large pond at the camp that my child(ren) can swim in. How can you guarantee they will be safe?
We put a HEAVY emphasis on safety and we back that up in several ways around our water use.
All of our staff members are First Aid, CPR, and Lifeguard certified.
All campers must pass a swim test in order to be allowed to swim without a life jacket.
The pond is divided into several sections based on depth and swimming ability.
There are always multiple lifeguards on duty when campers are swimming in the water.
We treat your child(ren)’s safety as if they were our own and we will always err on the side of caution.
As a part of our general practices, the pond water will be tested to ensure it is well below the allowed bacteria levels.
Will campers be allowed to use kayaks
Yes. Like other camp equipment, life jackets, kayaks and paddles will be sanitized in between activities.
What will you do in the case of inclement weather?
Due to the lack of indoor options, we will follow a procedure similar to “snow days” at school and cancel camp for the day.
In the case of forecasted lightning, thunder, or any weather considered dangerous, we will cancel camp by 7pm the evening before.
You will not be charged for that day
If unexpected, dangerous weather occurs during the camp day, we will send out a BrightWheel message and ask that a parent/guardian/emergency contact is able to pick them up within the hour.
If we need to seek shelter quickly the campers will be brought up to Playmates and notice will go out to Parents ASAP.
